For some courses, we'll need to assess your level to see if the course is at the right level for you, before you can enrol. Depending on the course, you might need to have a chat with us via an interview, fill out an application form, or have an audition or take an assessment.
Courses which need an interview
For the course that you're interested in, just click on the Start Interview button on the course page and follow the prompts. Please call the relevant department or refer to specific audition times which are published for some courses. You might be able to be approved for a course during our general advice times, though we would recommend you check this in advance as different practices apply in different departments.
A successful interview or audition does NOT guarantee you a space on a course, so it's worth securing your place by booking without delay once you've been given the go-ahead to book, to avoid any disappointment.
Application form courses
For a small number of courses, (generally some of our longer, accredited courses) you may need to complete an application form, before you're invited to an interview. Just visit the course page on our website, click on Start Application, and follow the prompts. You'll then be able to access the form, complete and return it to us using the contact details on the form. We'll be in touch shortly to let you know what the next stage is.
Courses which need assessments
Another small group of courses may need you to complete an assessment before you can book. Most of our assessments are online, so just click on the Start Assessment button for the course that you're interested in and then follow the prompts. We can often give you immediate feedback on how your assessment went, once you've completed it, and if not, then we'll be in touch shortly.
Securing your place on a starred course
Once you've been approved for your course, you'll want to book and pay as soon as you can to secure your place, as places are offered on a first come, first served basis. View your progress in the Assessment section in your My City Lit account, and once you've been approved, you'll be able to book online, in person, or by telephone.
