Will I be able to get a refund if I change my mind?
We'll be happy to refund your fees, provided your request your refund at least one week (7 calendar days) before your course starts. We'll charge you a 20% administration fee, with a minimum of £10.00 per refunded course.
For a small number of courses (generally our longer or accredited courses) we’ll need more notice. For these courses you’ll need to make your request at least three weeks (21 calendar days) before your course is due to start. If this applies to your course we’ll make it clear to you in the course outline and at interview, if one is required for your course.
*Our refund policy does not affect your statutory rights; in line with the consumer contracts regulations you have the right to request a full refund provided that your course has not already started. After your course has started you have the right to request a pro-rata refund in line with the 14 day cooling off period

When and how will I receive my refund?
Is your refund request is in policy and did you pay all your fees with one bank card?
Your request will be processed automatically within 48 hours, the money will return onto the same card that you paid with and you will receive an email as confirmation of your refund.
Is your request is in policy and you paid in cash, set up an installment plan or were awarded a bursary or grant for part of your course fees?
The Information and Bookings Team will process your refund within 1 week. If you paid by cash, we will refund you by cheque and enclose a refund receipt in the post as confirmation of your refund.
If your request falls outside of the policy we may still be able to offer you full or partial City Lit Credit and there are some circumstances where you may still be eligible for a refund. The Information and Bookings Team will consider all requests individually and will get back to you within 3 weeks.
What if my course is cancelled?
Very few courses at City Lit are cancelled. If we have to cancel a course and cannot offer a suitable alternative we will give you a full refund and £5 City Lit Credit as compensation for your disappointment.
We'll also prioritise your refund so that you don't need to wait for your money back. If you paid all your fees upfront by card your refund will be processed automatically within 48 hours.
If you paid for your course in cash, set up an installment plan or were awarded a bursary or grant for part of your course fees our Information and Bookings Team will process your refund within 1 week.
We regret that we cannot accept liability for an inability to provide courses where these are affected by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, for example, industrial action, public transport disruptions or severe weather.
