Our community values

At City Lit we strongly promote mutual respect and the value of diverse experiences and identities that each of us brings into the classroom.

We promote the importance of democracy, individual liberty, the rule of law, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. We do this through the way we work, teach and interact with our students and staff. At City Lit we promote free speech, encourage development of critical thinking and promote research and debate in the classroom. We are committed to making learning accessible to all, and to empower all students to take responsibility for their own learning.

The Education Inspection Framework defines these values as “British values” because they characterise life in modern Britain.
