Staying safe in the building

The following videos show safety advice including fire evacuation and assembly points for learners studying at City Lit’s main site in Keeley Street and the Wellbeing Centre.

e-cigarettes

Smoking is not permitted on college premises. Please also be aware that Staff and Students should not use or charge e-cigarettes anywhere within our buildings. We only allow internal equipment to be charged in the building to ensure our insurance is valid for any incidents which may occur.

We advise anyone who uses e-cigarettes to check their batteries regularly as these can sometimes suffer a 'short' in power.

e-bikes and e-scooters

Due to health and safety concerns and guidance from our insurer, e-bikes and e-scooters are no longer permitted on college premises.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on campus.

Duty Manager

City Lit operates a Duty Manager system during term times (details are displayed in classrooms). A Duty Manager can help you deal with safeguarding and health and safety issues, where immediate or urgent support is needed.

You can contact them using a telephone number displayed in classrooms from Monday to Friday (until 21:30) and Saturday (until 17:30) to ask for support.
