FAQ: Google Classroom

How do I access City Lit Google Classroom?

To access any Google Classroom resources available for your course(s), you first need to activate your City Lit Student IT account. You can find the steps to do this on our Help Centre or by visiting the Your City Lit Student IT account page.

Will City Lit Google Classroom be available for my upcoming course?

If your tutor has set up Google Classroom as a part of the delivery of your course, an invite to join will be sent to you by e-mail. Some courses, especially if they are very practical, do not use Google Classroom.

Do I need to have City Lit Google Classroom to join a City Lit online course?

City Lit online courses are taught via Zoom. You do not need to have access to Google Classroom to join your Zoom sessions. A link for the Zoom sessions, with a security passcode, will be sent to your personal e-mail address in advance of your live taught, online session.

Will any work I uploaded to City Lit Google Classroom previously still be there when I reactivate my City Lit Student IT account?

Any work that you uploaded to a course Google Classroom site should be available to you once you have reactivated your City Lit Student IT account.

You can find the steps to do this on our Help Centre or by following the guidance on the Your City Lit Student IT account page.

If you have any difficulty locating any uploaded work, then please complete our contact form and we will be in touch to help you.

Can I access City Lit Google Classroom resources for courses I did last term?

City Lit Google Classroom access is available for students for the entire academic year they are enrolled in, e.g. September 2022-August 2023, even if they don’t do a course every term.

So, if you did a course in Term 1 (September – December) with Google Classroom access, all the resources for this will be available to you when you reactivate your City Lit Student IT account, as well as any subsequent courses you enrol on with Google Classroom access.

We cannot provide access to City Lit Google Classroom sites for students who are not enrolled with us in the current academic year, and your access to Google Classroom will automatically finish at the end of each academic year. This does not apply to courses that span more than one academic year.

How do I get support if I’m having difficulty accessing City Lit Google Classroom?
