Requesting a Refund: Step-by-Step Guidance

The fastest way to get a refund is to request this through your My City Lit account, please also take a look at the  Refund and City Lit Credit policy.

If you've never logged in please take a look at our Step-by-Step guide.

Once you have logged in follow these steps to request your refund:

  1. You will see a list of your recent orders on the first page.

  2. To find out more information about each one click on 'View order'

  3. You will see all the course details here, once you are sure this is the course you want to request a refund for click on 'Cancel'

  4. You can then chose how you want your money refunded:

    - If you paid by card and your request is in policy (the course starts in more than 2 weeks) we can pay this back to your payment card or you can chose to be refunded to City Lit Credit.
    - If you course stars in less than 2 weeks you can only request City Lit Credit, this is up to the start of the third session of the course.
    - If you used City Lit Gift Vouchers we can only refund you back to City Lit Credit.

City Lit Credit is non-refundable once used, it is also non-transferable and must be used with one year.

You will see a page similar to this with your refund options explained, the options that will appear depend on what refunds are available for your specific order. Please read the options carefully to understand how and when the refund you are requesting will be processed.

  5. Refunds that cannot be processed automatically

If you did not enrol online and pay all the fees on one card or if your request is out of the standard policy and due to personal circumstances e.g. a disability of a bereavement one of our student services team will need to review your request and process it manually. You will see that your refund is pending on your account.Refund through My City Lit guidance screenshot 9.png
