Applying for an RFSA Bursary: Step-by-Step Guidance

Royal Female School of Art (RFSA) Bursaries are available on some of our more advanced Visual Arts courses, if your course is eligible the department will let you know during the application process. 

To apply for a Royal Female School of Art (RFSA) Bursary please visit the City Lit Pay My Student portal:

  1. You will need to either sign up for a new account or login to your existing account.
  2. Please select Academic year 2024/2025

  3. Once logged in, start a new application

  4. Fill in your personal details

  5. Provide details about dependents (if applicable)

  6. Answer funding eligibility questions

  7. When answering the question about  support you’d like to be considering for, please choose ‘Royal Female School of Art’

  8. Provide evidence to support your application. You must upload the following documents:

      Full bank statements covering the most recent two months
      If employed, your last two payslips
      If on benefits your most recent benefit letter/statement

    Please also upload any other evidence you feel may support your application.

  9. Please provide your bank details.

    Your details will be held securely and only used if your application is successful.

  10. Sign your application

  11. Once you have signed and submitted the first part of your application, you need to provide information about the reasons you are applying for a RFSA bursary.

    Please click on the box that says ‘Assigned to you’ and ‘Needs signature’

  12. Provide answers to the following questions:

      Why have you chosen your particular course of study, what are your ambitions for the future and how would an award help you to achieve these?
      Why have you chosen your particular course of study, what are your ambitions for the future and how would an award help you to achieve these?
      Please detail what you hope to progress onto upon completing your chosen course. This can include further study or employment

    Please ensure you provide as much information as possible to increase your chances of being successful

  13. Once you have answered the questions, please sign your form again


    Your application is now complete. You will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible.
