How do I get support if I’m having difficulty accessing my City Lit Student Account?

We have provided step by step guidance on how to activate your City Lit Student IT account to gain access. You can find the information about how to enable your account on the Your City Lit Student IT account page.

Can I access my Student IT Account if I am outside of the UK?

Yes, but only if you let us know if you are travelling abroad during your course so that we can give you access to google classroom from outside of the UK. To do this please complete our online form.

If your course is online you will still receive the email with the Zoom link to your personal email and it will be accessible regardless if you are abroad or in the UK.

Changed my phone and/or change my phone number how do I Authenticate?

Contact us letting us know you have changed your phone/ phone number and we can update your details. To do this please complete our online form with your new number.

Error: "You can't reset your own password because you haven't registered for password reset"

Contact us letting us know which email you would like to have as your back-up when you reset your password. To do this please complete our online form.

Error: "Your Account is blocked. We've detected suspicious activity on your account"

If you receive this message it is because you need to apply for overseas access. To do this please complete our online form. note: If you are using a VPN to connect to other countries, that will also flag you account as being not in the UK.

If I have my own Microsoft Account do I need to sign in my Student account?

Yes, as your Student Account is attached to you accessing your Google Classroom class, you can only access your Google Classroom through your Student Account. You can find the information about how to enable your account on the Your City Lit Student IT account page.

How to switch between Microsoft Accounts

I have multiple Microsoft Email Addresses

Use a private browser to log into your Microsoft student account to avoid conflicts with other Microsoft logins, ensure a clean session, and prevent auto-login to the wrong account.

Where can I find my student number/student email address?

Once enrolled into a course, you will receive the below email. This makes up part of your Student email, your student email will be studentnumber@student.citylit.ac.uk e.g 660993@student.citylit.ac.uk

Come to the Student Centre and Library (on the Mezzanine floor in our main building on Keeley street) Monday to Friday 10:30am to 5:30pm.

Outside of these times please speak to the Student Centre staff who can call someone down to meet you.
